About the role 

You will be responsible for supervision and delivery of premium meal service including menu planning, catering, infrastructure management, ordering, quality service delivery, service delivery improvement.

Your duties will be the following however not limited to:

  • Manage compliance related to food safety, WHS and quality.
  • Leading and motivating the team and be part of recruitment and training of team members
  • Stock control and ordering
  • Resident dietary management
  • Kitchen and food cost management
  • Production and delivery of high-quality meals
  • Service excellence around all aspects of the dining experience
  • Communicate with residents and families and document the need of residents if required.
  • Provide management and guidance to the kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth operation.

Requirements for the role 

  • Experience in Aged Care (preferred) - Two years of Full-time experience within Aged Care is preferred or broader catering experience from commercial catering in high volume is desired.
  • Qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery) and/or experience working as a Chef in Aged Care would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • Trade Qualifications and experience and understanding of special dietary needs.
  • Understand the impact of food cost management.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Exceptional customer service mindset

How you will make an impact as a Chef


As a Chef at Regis, you’ll lead the delivery of a premium meal service, ensuring all meals—including special diets—are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety. You’ll follow the Regis Food Safety Program and ensure safe use of all catering equipment.

•    Plan and deliver a four-week rotating menu aligned with Regis guidelines, catering to all dietary needs.

•    Oversee kitchen output, ensuring consistent quality, portion control, and plate presentation.

•    Manage stock levels, place orders, and process supplier invoices promptly.

•    Monitor deliveries for freshness, apply FIFO principles, and maintain proper food storage and labelling.

•    Control stock distribution to serveries and ensure daily requirements are met.

•    Ensure staff understand dietary types and requirements.

•    Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, including audits and documentation.

•    Respond appropriately to gastro outbreaks and support EHO inspections.

•    Uphold cleanliness standards across kitchen and dining areas through scheduled cleaning tasks.

•    Engage with residents and families to support dietary needs and special occasions.

•    Manage food costs and ensure adherence to Regis presentation standards across all service touchpoints.

•    Lead and support kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and daily operations.

•    Ensure compliance with OHS, risk, and environmental policies to maintain a safe workplace.

How you will make an impact as a Cook

•    Responsible for the correct and hygienic preparation and serving of food.

•    Responsible for maintaining and facilitating clean and hygienic work practices

•    Preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery of food and refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Program. (FSP)

•    Prevent cross-contamination and properly prepare food to meet special dietary requirements, such as gluten and dairy intolerances, allergies and preferences.
