About the Role

Your position as a Physiotherapist is based on the model of person-centred care, and the commitment to supporting the aged and frail to maintain their well-being, dignity and independence with a focus on wellness and reablement.  Your role is to assess and specify care needs to meet individual requirements, providing flexible, comprehensive and individually tailored Care Plans.  You are responsible for the provision of professional physiotherapy services for our clients  as part of the CHSP.   


The physiotherapist ensures the delivery of skilled individualised and group care of the highest quality standard to assist Regis clients to optimise their level of physical and mental well-being and independence, thus maintaining their quality of life with a focus on enhancement and restorative therapies.


What You’ll Bring 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work and to be flexible in dealing with constantly changing priorities and conflicting work pressures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, recognising when matters require referral to the Program Manager.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant Laws, Acts, Regulations, Charters and Codes of Practice
  • AHPRA registration with no condition 
  • Degree Qualified in Allied Health discipline and registration with the appropriate board (Physiotherapy)
  • A current drivers license with clear driving record
  • Satisfactory Pre Employment Medical Assessment results based on job role requirements

About the role
Regis is now seeking an aspiring Physiotherapist to join the Regis Cairns Day Therapy Centre Far Nth QLD.  

The position will support the transition to Support at Home (SaH), a highly anticipated change for community aged care. Integrating with our highly regarded Commonwealth Health Support Program (CHSP) service will also be constituted.


Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive, holistic assessments including wellness and re-enablement reviews.
  • Plan, implement and review appropriate preventive and therapeutic care services in consultation with stakeholders 
  • Coordinate/deliver individual and group therapy services alongside the MDT
  • Regularly review and update care plans to reflect changes in client’s health circumstances and needs.


Skills & Experience

  • Experience and passion for working within the aged care sector.
  • Experience working within community services programs, specifically CHSP (highly regarded)
  •  Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.


Mandatory requirements for all candidates

  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy.
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.
  • Current police check (under 6 months, full disclosure unsupervised vulnerable people)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
