The Purchasing Officer is responsible for:
- Implementing and monitoring purchasing and materials management strategies, processes and disciplines that meet the needs of the business
- Undertaking purchasing activities and maintaining supplier relationships with respect to Regis’ catalogue of inventory and non-inventory items (products and services) with a focus on ensuring value for money and maintaining probity and accountability
Developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to increase efficiency and productivity within the procurement to pay cycle and reduce tangible and intangible costs.
Key responsibilities
- Establish the purchasing function
- Drive continuous improvement
- Ensure efficient and accurate purchasing processing
- Maintain vendor master data
- Provide meaningful and regular reports and analysis
- Provide excellent service to and communication with all stakeholders
What you will bring to the role
- Knowledge of purchasing processes and systems usage
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Confidence to make decisions
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and operate in an effective organised manner
- Strong stakeholder management
- Ability to work in a matrix organisational structure
- Ability to think and act strategically and contribute to the businesses strategic plan
- Willingness to work in a hands on manner
- Experience with improving and enforcing business systems and controls
- Advanced Microsoft suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with ERP systems
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a purchasing or inventory role
- Experience with Coupa is preferred
