The opportunity   

Regis Ayr  has an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Cook to join their team. This role will be working 37.5 hours per fortnight, broken up as Week 1 Monday and Tuesday 6.30am - 2.30pm, Week 2 Monday - Wednesday 6.30am - 2.30pm. Additional shifts may be available to cover leave.

The important role you will play 

  • Responsible for the correct and hygienic preparation and serving of food.
  • Responsible for maintaining and facilitating clean and hygienic work practices Preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery of food and refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Program. (FSP)
  • Prevent cross-contamination and properly prepare food to meet special dietary requirements, such as gluten                 and dairy intolerances, allergies and preferences.
  • Liaise with Assist the Chef and/or Chef Manager to liaise with, residents and significant others for menu planning, food preparation and special occasions.

What you will bring to the role

  • Experience in Aged Care (preferred)
  • Qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery) and/or experience working as a Cook in Aged Care would be advantageous but not necessary
  • Understanding of special dietary needs 
  • Exceptional customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
