The important role you will play

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for a range of both preventative and corrective maintenance duties right across the residence including equipment and plant monitoring, grounds upkeep, and accurate, timely reporting. 

You will possess a strong work ethic, excellent technical skills, and a passion for providing a safe and comfortable environment for our elderly residents. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

 

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility. 
  • Perform repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry, and minor equipment repairs. 
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruption and maintain resident satisfaction. 
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs. 
  • Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects. 
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment. 
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for both staff and residents. 

 

 

What you will bring to the role 

As a collaborative member of the team, you will possess:  

  • Trade certified or relevant qualification. 
  • Current valid driver's license, CPR and First Aid certificate 
  • Proven experience as a maintenance officer or similar role, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting
  • Solid knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with staff, residents, and external contractors.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance work.
