Description and requirements
- Payroll Compliance & EBA Implementation
- Lead payroll compliance initiatives to ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory alignment.
- Focus on driving best practice across payroll processes, controls, and the configuration of industrial instruments into operational systems.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Workplace Relations Specialist who understands how important it is to pay people correctly — not just as a payroll function, but as a core compliance and governance priority. This role leads the development and delivery of a payroll compliance program that ensures regulatory and statutory alignment between Regis’ payroll systems and workplace relations obligations.
You’ll work across the business to ensure our systems, processes, and operational practices are compliant with Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, policies, and legislation. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, this role identifies and mitigates risk while embedding a compliance mindset across Regis.
You’ll apply your deep knowledge of payroll operations and industrial instruments to provide expert advice, tools, and guidance to leaders. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring EBA terms and conditions are correctly configured into our Time & Attendance system (HumanForce) — working closely with IT and tech providers to ensure accurate implementation.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Industrial Instrument Payroll Compliance
- Lead the development of an end-to-end payroll compliance framework across stakeholder groups responsible for configuring EBAs into payroll systems.
- Provide instruction and oversight to IT and technical teams on the correct configuration of EBA terms and conditions into HumanForce, ensuring alignment with payroll outcomes.
- Ensure payroll systems, processes, and operational requirements are compliant with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, policies, and legislation.
- Develop a compliance assurance framework to document and review agreement implementation against Regis policies, contracts, and related materials.
- Support timely implementation of policy, award, and agreement changes into systems.
Payroll Compliance Risk & Controls
- Identify and respond to compliance risks and breaches, ensuring future payroll compliance.
- Proactively explore and raise improvement ideas to strengthen compliance.
- Document and regularly review systems and processes for ongoing compliance assurance.
- Collaborate across Payroll, HR, and Workplace Relations to solve complex issues with pragmatism, legal rigour, and operational insight.
Project Delivery & Capability Building
- Provide advice and input into key initiatives including Work Value Case Stage 3, Annual Wage Review, and Phoenix project delivery.
- Embed payroll compliance thinking into change management activities.
- Develop and deliver a compliance capability building program aligned with Workplace Relations and Enterprise Bargaining strategies.
What You’ll Bring
- Background in payroll operations, analysis, or compliance (essential).
- Experience in aged care, health, or other regulated sectors (desirable).
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance principles and industrial instruments.
- Ability to interpret and apply Awards, EBAs, and legislative obligations.
- Experience working with Time & Attendance systems (e.g., HumanForce) in relation to EBA configuration.
- Collaborative leadership style with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience leading change and delivering strategic initiatives.
Benefits That Support and Reward You
- Flexible working environment for better life balance and wellbeing.
- Career development opportunities across 84 locations and 12,000 employees.
- Salary Sacrifice – Novated Lease (Maxxia).
- Discounts on health insurance, gym memberships, and access to counselling and financial support.
- Employee Referral Program and recognition programs.
